Our web-based Purchasing Guide to Social Enterprise & the Voluntary Sector, a free service to the Birmingham and Solihull social enterprise sector, is designed to meet public purchasers need for better market intelligence about what social enterprises are out there, the services they provide and - most importantly - the benefits and added-value of using the social enterprise option.
Using a unique 'enterprise profile', the Guide offers an unprecedented level of information about individual social enterprises and trading voluntary organisations in Birmingham and Solihull and public purchasers will be able to use the Guide to:

Return it as directed on the questionnaire and well do the rest to add your profile to the Guide. Over the coming weeks and months we shall be continuing to promote the Guide, encouraging purchasers to test it and enterprises to join. Birmingham City Council has now issued voluntary sector commissioning prospectuses in three service areas. The prospectus in each case can be downloaded below:
· Voluntary sector advice services
· Housing services, including young persons' home options service, domestic violence, street intervention service, housing advice (single people at risk, day centre facilities, and housing advice for vulnerable groups.
· Planning and regeneration services, including engagement and support of homeless people, refugee support, supporting the transition of people with mental ill-health from social care to economic activity, and employment development within the Early Intervention Team attached to Heart of Birmingham PCT.
