St Paul's Venture “…an oasis in the heart of the city”

St Paul’s Venture, part of the St Paul’s Community Development Trust, is a thriving social enterprise providing play care services for children and families in Balsall Heath, Moseley and the surrounding area. It has been providing playscheme activities for over 25 years. The current play care service was started 16 years ago and has grown to employ 16 staff plus sessional workers during busy holiday periods. The enterprise turns over around £154,000 a year,over half of which is generated from fees and contracts to provide services for
local schools.
Future business priorities: to provide more play opportunities for disadvantaged children, including more subsidised playscheme places, and to develop new after school and weekend clubs.
